FINALLY! A name reveal!
So, much like Jules comes from a fictional character related to the topic, Robin comes from a little dude you might also know as Puck. It's true! Robin was by far the hardest name to nail because I didn't want it to give too much away, and needed it to be different enough from the other characters. Needless to say, I couldn't really use a famous ghost name or character, as it needed to be unique! So when I ended up in a very abandoned looking website detailing some fairy and spirit like characters by a fella who goes by the name of William last name Shakespeare, it was a done deal.
I was familiar with A Midsummer Night's Dream from watching the National Theatre's production during lockdown, this one:
And I loved it! This adaptation took some liberties, but the story remains the same. Or at least I know that now, since I've actually read the play and loved it, again! Robin was such a fun character and so mischievous, something I believe all teen ghosts should be. My Robin isn't inspired by Shakespeare's Robin, but I like that there's that link. It also allowed me to make some puns with the whole bird name situation. Cute!
